Depois de vários anos de namoro descontínuo, Barbie consegue convencer Ken, o seu namorado de longa data, a dar o nó. Vejam a história do casal aqui . Mais curioso ainda é o facto de a Mattel, alinhando-se com as tendências sociais e pretendendo alargar o seu público-alvo, ter criado uma Barbie apoiante dos direitos da comunidade LGTB, mais informação aqui e aqui.

  "Barbie Girl", Aqua, Aquarium , 1997 Em 2000, a Mattel processou a MCA Records, editora do primeiro álbum dos dinamarqueses Aqua, acusando-os de sexualizar a Barbie (leiam abaixo** a letra da canção) e de ter infringido direitos de autor. Após dois anos, o caso foi arquivado por um juiz do Supremo Tribunal, que considerou a obra uma paródia, evocando a Primeira Emenda à Constituição dos EUA, que impede restrições à liberdade de expressão. Em 2009, relançando o seu mais vendável produto, a Mattel adaptou a música, com um vídeo anódino que podem ver aqui . Há, no entanto, muito mais versões da canção! Logo em 1999, a cantora indonésia Christina Colondam (então com 6 anos de idade) apresenta a versão [pedófila, diria eu] "Boneka Barbie", que podem apreciar e cantar em karaoké aqui . Em 2005, a brasileira Kelly Key lança "Sou a Barbie Girl" (2005), retratando uma protagonista frívola, infantil, vaidosa, manipuladora e mimada, uma verdadeira prince...

Chinese female kung-fu superheroes are smart, fight bad guys, do good deeds, and risk their lives. They appear when least expected. Chinese female kung-fu superheroes never give up. They travel often alone by foot through mountains. They work hard training to master various martial arts forms. They do not care about Barbies , those plastic dolls of only one hair color that just looked pretty in the 80's. They aren't impressed; they do not want a boring life....

Graham has been in the cover of the American and the British Vogue , has a swimwear, lingerie and dress line for plus size women, and was the first plus size model to appear on the cover of the magazine Sports Illustrated.  The model is an advocate for body positivity and self-love. She is responsible for the hashtag #BeautyBeyondSize, and has been a huge force in the fashion industry's acceptance of more than the "regular sized" beauty. Olá a todos! Venho partilhar aqui dois videoclipes que abordam os textos que temos analisado nas últimas aulas . Ambos são da artista norte-americana Melanie Martinez . A cantora e compositora nasceu em 1995, em Nova Iorque, e participou no programa The Voice USA . As músicas que vos trago fazem parte do seu álbum de estreia Cry Baby (2015) . O álbum conta a história de uma personagem, mas seleccionei apenas duas músicas, são elas, " Dollhouse",  do início do álbum, e " Mrs. Potato Head , uma das últimas músicas. Ambas captam bem a essência da temática das bonecas — a perfeição e as expectativas que minam a vida quotidiana da sociedade contemporânea , mais concretamente dos EUA.
